Tickets and parking for the draft at the RBC Center are free

RALEIGH, N.C. (May 24, 2004) – Tickets for the 2004 NHL Entry Draft at the RBC Center will be available beginning today, Monday, May 24. The draft is open to the public and tickets and parking to the event are free. The first three rounds of the NHL Entry Draft will begin Saturday, June 26 at 12 p.m., with the first round televised nationally in the United States on ESPN2 and in Canada on TSN/RDS.

Free general admission section tickets to the Entry Draft are available through several different outlets. Fans can download tickets online at or pick them up at the Dodge Box Office at the RBC Center or any retail location of The Eye team store. After June 1, fans may also pick up tickets at any North Carolina RBC Centura banking center or Triangle-area Harris Teeter store. In addition, tickets will be available the day of the event at the RBC Center.

Carolina Hurricanes season-ticket holders have priority access to sections 101, 102, 107, 116 and 121-130 until 11:30 a.m., at which time those sections will also be opened to the general public. Several other lower level sections are reserved for prospective draftees and their families. The seating bowl opens to all guests beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday the 26th. Seating in the general admission sections is based on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

The Hurricanes and the National Hockey League will also be hosting a special edition of the Caniac Carnival presented by Progress Energy on June 26 beginning at 9 a.m. The free festival will feature autograph sessions with current Hurricanes players, a display featuring the Stanley Cup and all 17 NHL trophies, live music from local bands on the Best Buy Stage, inflatable games, interactive hockey attractions and obstacle courses, a trading card and memorabilia show, NHL Fantasy Games, a Hurricanes used hockey equipment sale and much more.
