The Vegas Golden Knights (34-26-15) beat the Calgary Flames (31-36-8), 6-3, on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
Morgan Frost struck first with an unassisted goal at 7:41 in the opening period to give Calgary an early lead. Mitch Marner evened the score 1-1 at 1:47 into the middle period. Shea Theodore fired a shot from the top of the circle, and Marner tipped the puck past Dustin Wolf for the score. Blake Coleman gave the Flames their second lead of the game at 4:38 in the second frame. Two minutes later, Marner responded with his second goal of the night to pull the game even, 2-2. Jack Eichel passed the puck across the offensive zone to Rasmus Andersson, who fed it to Marner in the slot for the one-timer. Coleman found the back of the net for the second time in the contest to give Calgary a 3-2 advantage with 7:49 remaining in the second period. Pavel Dorofeyev made it 3-3 with his 19th power-play goal of the season. Marner sent the puck to Dorofeyev in the right circle, and he launched a one-timer into the back of the net with 3:39 left in the middle frame.

Brett Howden gave the Golden Knights their first lead on the night with his tenth goal of the season. Ivan Barbashev carried the puck up ice for Theodore, who sent it to Howden in between the circles for a wrist shot with 7:41 remaining in the game. Barbashev extended Vegas’ lead, 5-3, off a rebound from Marner’s shot that came from behind the goal line. Marner then recorded his first hat-trick of the season with a wrap-around goal to seal the 6-3 win for the Golden Knights. Mark Stone passed the puck to Marner, and he went around the net to beat Wolf short side. Carter Hart picked up his sixth win of the season in his return from injury, turning aside 19 out of 22 shots in the victory.
