The Oilers Rookie Writers contest in partnership with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation returns for its second season!

Using the story template provided below, we invite kids aged 8 - 13 years old in Oil Country to write a short fictional story telling us about what the Oilers and/or Hunter are doing on their February break! The submitted story should be 750 words or less.

The deadline to enter this contest is Monday, February 16 at 11:59 PM MT.

Grand Prize Winner

The Grand Prize winner of the Rookie Writers Contest will have their short story animated and shown on the scoreboard before the Oilers Fan Appreciation game on Monday, April 13. The winner will also receive four tickets to attend the game with their family along with a meet and greet with Oilers mascot, Hunter the Lynx!

Additional Winners

Secondary winners of the Rookie Writers Contest will receive two tickets to upcoming games throughout the remainder of the season.
