On this date in 1992, the Flyers acquired left wing Brent Fedyk from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

Fedyk combined with center Eric Lindros and right wing Mark Recchi to form the "Crazy Eights" line. Fedyk wore number 18 as he played on a line with Lindros (#88) and Recchi (#8).

Fedyk posted career bests in goals (21), assists (38) and points (59) during the 1992-93 season. He would play three more seasons for the Flyers (1993-94 to 1995-96), before being traded to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Trent Klatt on December 13, 1995.
