On this date in 1976, the Flyers defeated the Vancouver Canucks at the Spectrum, 3-2.
With the win, the Flyers extended their undefeated streak to 23 games (17-0-6).
The Flyers would lose at Detroit on March 20, 4-2, to end the streak. The 23-game undefeated streak, which ran from January 26 through March 18, tied the NHL record for longest undefeated streak in one season. They tied the mark set by the Boston Bruins during the 1940-41 season.
The Montreal Canadiens would break the mark by going undefeated through 28 games during the 1977-78 season.
The Flyers would reclaim the record by posting 35 straight games without a loss during the 1979-80 season, a record which still stands today.
