Top Philadelphia Flyers prospects will visit the Jersey Shore for the annual Trial on the Isle training camp on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Stone Harbor, NJ.
The conditioning day, part of the club’s Development Camp for prospects, is led by Director of Sports Medicine, Jim McCrossin.
Trial on the Isle activities kick off at 9 a.m. with warm-ups on the beach at 96th Street, followed by skills and team building exercises. New this year, prospects will participate in a sand sculpture building contest, with Flyers fans serving as judges. At 10:45 a.m., the prospects will participate in water sports activities at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor (9001 Sunset Drive).
At 12:15 p.m., Flyers prospects Shayne Gostisbehere, Samuel Morin, Travis Sanheim, and the new Flyers’ first-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft (to be drafted June 26) will host a free “Hooked On Hockey” clinic for young fans at the Stone Harbor Elementary School (275 93rd Street).
Beginning at 1:30 p.m., all participating Trial on the Isle prospects will be available to sign autographs at Stone Harbor Elementary School. Admission to the signing is a $10 donation to Flyers Charities, and proceeds from the session will be donated to the elementary school’s Garden Of Kindness.
The day concludes back on 96th Street Beach with a prospect volleyball tournament at 3:45 p.m. Fans can register in teams of two to participate in the tournament. Proceeds will be given to the American Legion Post 331, based out of Stone Harbor, to enable Coast Guardsmen stationed in Cape May County to return home to their families for the 2015 holiday season.
