LEIER LOANED; READ ACTIVATED
Flyers GM Ron Hextall announced today that left wing Taylor Leier has been loaned to their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, while left wing Matt Read has been activated from Injured Reserve.

Leier was recalled to the Flyers on Dec. 5 and appeared in 10 games, recording two points (1g-1a) including his first NHL goal at Dallas on Dec. 17. He averaged 9:03 of ice time per-game.

Read comes off IR after suffering an upper-body injury on Dec. 4 at Nashville that caused him to miss the last 11 games. He will be available for tonight's Flyers-Ducks game in Anaheim.

Read has six goals and 10 points in 27 games for the Flyers this season, his sixth in the NHL and with the club after signing as a free agent out of Bemidji State on March 23, 2011.

Puck drop is 8 p.m. on the east coast. For more on the game, check out 5 Things to know…
