The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have recalled defenseman Samuel Morin from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, according to general manager Ron Hextall.
He will be available for the Flyers-Coyotes game on Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center, wearing #5.
The recall comes following the Flyers' 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday night in which defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere left after the second period and did not return. The Flyers had been skating with six defensemen due to the long-term injury to Andrew MacDonald.
Morin was on the season opening roster for the Flyers and accompanied the team on their four-game road trip but did not appear in a game. He was originally loaned to the Phantoms on October 11 and has since appeared in eight games for the Phantoms, recording a goal and three assists for four points along with 17 PIM and a plus-7 rating.
Morin appeared in five preseason games for the Flyers this year, recording a goal, an assist and seven penalty minutes.
