Flyers GM Ron Hextall announced to the media today that defenseman Andrew MacDonald will be out 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury.
MacDonald suffered the injury in yesterday's 2-1 win over the Oilers, where he recorded three shots on goal, six blocked shots and logged 22:03 of ice time - second most on the team - but finished the game.
The news comes on a full day off from practice for the Flyers, who resume skating at the club's training facility in Voorhees, NJ on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
MacDonald, who was named an alternate captain on the road in a vote by his teammates, has appeared in all eight games for the Flyers this season, recording one goal and an average ice time of 19:35, which is third most on the team.
