Flyers GM Ron Hextall announced to the media that left wing Michael Raffl suffered an upper-body injury and will not return to the Flyers-Rangers game at Madison Square Garden.

He has played on the top line with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek throughout camp and preseason action, and logged 3:09 of ice time on the top power-play unit in tonight’s game.

Prior to tonight’s game, Raffl had posted two goals in two games.

Prior to the start of the Flyers-Rangers preseason game at Madison Square Garden, Flyers GM Ron Hextall gave a brief injury update regarding center Sean Couturier.

Hextall announced that Couturier has an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day.

He has appeared in two preseason games for the Flyers, recording one assist. He has missed the last two games. He has also appeared in 36:59 of total ice time in those two games, 11:40 of which have come on special teams (8:24 power-play & 3:16 penalty kill).

Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvrith is also out of tonight’s lineup due to a maintenance day. As a result, the club has recalled goaltender Jason LaBarbera from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for tonight’s game. LaBarbera was loaned to the Phantoms on Saturday after appearing in one contest where he stopped 18 of 20 shots through 30 minutes of play in the Flyers-Islanders split-squad game at Brooklyn.
