Prior to the team's practice at Skatezone in Voorhees, NJ, Flyers GM Ron Hextall announced that forward Boyd Gordon will be out a minimum of one week with an upper-body injury.
Gordon has appeared in eight of the 10 Flyers games so far this season, recording one goal and averaging 8:30 of ice-time. He leads the team in face-off win percentage at 52.4 among players to have taken more than 50 face-offs so far this season.
Signed to a contract on the first day of free agency this past summer, Gordon is in his first year with the Flyers after spending parts of 12 years in the NHL with Washington, Arizona and Edmonton.
The Flyers take on the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night in the team's Hockey Fights Cancer night. The game has also been selected as the NHL's feature Hockey Fights Cancer game and will be broadcast nationally on NBCSN.
A limited number of seats remain for Hockey Fights Cancer Night, presented by Toyota, and are available online at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com, or by calling 215-218-PUCK. For more details, CLICK HERE
