As the Philadelphia Flyers battle the Pittsburgh Penguins for Pennsylvania pride in the Eastern Conference Finals of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation is encouraging local businesses to provide their employees with a Flyers “dress-down” day at work to spread the Flyers spirit and support Flyers Charities.
The “Get Flyered Up” Campaign, an initiative started this year by the Flyers Charities wing of the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation, allows local businesses and institutions the opportunity to show their support for the Flyers by designating a “casual day” for employees, in which they may wear Flyers colors or team jerseys. Organizations wishing to partake can designate any donation amount (i.e., $5 donation per participant for the day.)
Each entity is asked to select an internal captain to coordinate the project, and are encouraged to foster friendly competition amongst departments or employees. Companies can offer incentives, such as prizes for most creative outfit or most fanatical Flyers’ fan.
Studies have shown that the occasional "casual day" increases productivity levels and boosts company morale.
Area businesses can make this a fundraiser and support Flyers Charities by calling the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation at 215-389-9426 or visiting www.comcastspectacorfoundation.org.
