/ Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers will play one last final game in their former home, the Wachovia Spectrum, when they meet their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come early and celebrate the Spectrum at a free block party featuring live entertainment, interactive games and more beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The game will be preceded by a special on-ice ceremony featuring a memorable hoisting of the Stanley Cup banner by 21 members of the Flyers Stanley Cup winning teams (1973-74 and 1974-75). The jerseys worn by the Stanley Cup champions during the pre-game ceremony will be autographed and auctioned off during the game.
“There’s no one else we’d rather ‘Celebrate the Spectrum’ with than our fans,” said Flyers Senior Vice President of Business Operations Shawn Tilger. “We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to see the Flyers in the Spectrum one last time and that their experience is as memorable as possible.”
Members of the Stanley Cup teams who are scheduled to appear in the special pre-game ceremony are Bill Barber, Tom Bladon, Gary Dornhoefer, Andre Dupont, Rick MacLeish, Simon Nolet, Bernie Parent, Don Saleski, Dave Schultz, Ed Van Impe, Jimmy Watson, Joe Watson, Ted Harris, Bob Kelly, Bob Clarke, Bill Clement, Terry Crisp, Orest Kindrachuk, Bob Taylor, Reggie Leach, and Larry Goodenough.
All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative poster and ticket and the opportunity to purchase a commemorative Spectrum game program. This program features great Flyers moments at the Spectrum and a profile of all Flyers captains.
Tickets, including a special $19.67 ticket to commemorate the opening year of the Spectrum, are on sale exclusively through ComcastTIX at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com or by calling 1-800-298-4200. Ticket packages including game tickets, autographed merchandise, a tour of the Wachovia Spectrum, meet and greet with select members of the Stanley Cup teams and more are also available at philadelphiaflyers.com in the auction section.
The Flyers-Phantoms game will air live on Comcast SportsNet and Sports Radio 610 WIP.
