Following practice today, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren gave the following statement with regards to injured defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon.
“Marc-Andre has continued his rehab the past couple of months and has improved to the point where we anticipate him being loaned to the Phantoms this week and getting back on the road to playing professional hockey games.”
The 24-year-old has been sidelined since Dec. 1, 2012 due to a concussion, having last played for the Flyers AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms on Nov. 30 vs. Binghamton.
He appeared in 17 games for the Phantoms in 2012-13, posting a goal and three assists for four points.
He has also appeared in 45 games for the Flyers during the 2011-12 season, where he recorded four goals and seven points to go along with 52 penalty minutes.
He was originally selected in the third round (68th overall) by the Flyers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
