(London, Ontario) – The Philadelphia Flyers’ roster for tonight’s game will feature several young players that did not play in the team’s 3-2 preseason opening win
in Trenton on Monday, and one veteran attempting to make a comeback.
The Flyers will faceoff against the Ottawa Senators at 7:00 p.m. from the John Labatt Centre. The game will be broadcast locally on CN8, and will also be available on a webcast on philadelphiaflyers.com.
Among the players making their preseason debut will be defenseman Mike Rathje, who missed most of last season with a back injury, defenseman Ryan Parent, who was acquired in the trade for Peter Forsberg last February, and forwards Steve Downie and Claude Giroux
, the team’s first round draft picks in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
Along with Rathje and Parent, manning the blue line for Philadelphia will be Denis Gauthier, Martin Grenier, Randy Jones and Alexandre Picard. Forwards will include Jeff Carter, Riley Cote, Jim Dowd, Ben Eager, Scott Hartnell
, Joffrey Lupul, Mike Richards, Stefan Ruzicka, R.J. Umberger and Scottie Upshall.
Antero Niittymaki and Brian Boucher are the listed goaltenders.
