The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have recalled 6'0", 208-pound left wing Josh Gratton from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, according to General Manager Bob Clarke. Gratton will be available to play tonight in the Flyers-Sabres game at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY. He has been assigned uniform number #46.
Gratton, 24, has recorded 14 penalty minutes in three games for the Flyers this season. In 45 games for the Phantoms this season, Gratton has posted 14 points (8G,6A) and 247 penalty minutes. His 247 penalty minutes lead the Phantoms.
During the 2004-05 season, Gratton registered 14 points (9G,5A) and 246 penalty minutes in 57 regular season games for the Phantoms. He added three goals, three assists and 78 penalty minutes in 21 playoff games as the Phantoms won the Calder Cup.
A native of Brantford, Ontario, Gratton was signed as a free agent by the Flyers on July 27, 2004.
