The National Hockey League has announced that the Philadelphia Flyers-Pittsburgh Penguins game on Sunday, March 22 at Mellon Arena will be the NHL “Game of the Week,” and will now begin at 12:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
The game will be the sixth and final meeting of the regular season between the cross-state rivals, who also met in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. The Flyers (35-19-10) currently sit in second place in the Atlantic Division and fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 80 points, while Pittsburgh (35-26-6) is tied for third place in the division and tied for eighth place in the conference with 76 points. The Flyers are 1-2-2 against Pittsburgh this season.
The Flyers-New York Rangers game this Sunday, March 15 at Madison Square Garden is also set for 12:30 p.m. EST as the NHL “Game of the Week” on NBC.
