Flyers Invite Fans to Submit Pictures for Military Photo Gallery

As a longtime supporter of servicemen and women the Philadelphia Flyers parent company, Comcast-Spectacor, was the recipient of the extremely rare and prestigious President's Award in September 2006. The recognition is reserved for a person or entity that has provided extraordinary service for the USO. The Flyers were recognized for their service last season that included military honorees for the Flyers Community Teammate award at 11 home games, sending Flyers care packages to numerous military bases both in the United States and abroad, and saluting the Armed Forces with a special tribute on Veteran's Day. In March 2006, the Flyers were recognized by Willow Grove Naval Air Station Joint Reserve base for recognizing servicemen and women in the local community.
