Flyers Honor Cassidy Family as "Flyers Community Teammate" Saturday

Flyers Take on Boston Bruins Sat., Jan.. 12th at 1:00 p.m.

The Flyers will honor fallen police officer Chuck Cassidy as a “Flyers Community Teammate” during their game against the Boston Bruins on Saturday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wachovia Center. Officer Cassidy succumbed to a gunshot wound on November 1, 2007 after he walked into a robbery in progress the day before. Officer Cassidy had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 25 years. Accepting the award is Officer Cassidy’s wife Judy and three kids Katy, Colby and John.

The “Flyers Community Teammate” was developed to recognize an individual or group for their positive contributions to the local community. Fans will join the Flyers as they recognize Officer Cassidy for the sacrifices he has made on our behalf, and take a moment to remember him as a hero in our community.
