Exclusive Flyers items available via on-line auction to benefit Comcast-Spectacor Foundation
Philadelphia, Pa. - July 17, 2007
- Philadelphia Flyers fans have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of team history with exciting on-line auctions. The pen that Danny Briere
used to sign his contract with the Philadelphia Flyers is now available for fans to bid on beginning on Tuesday, July 17 at 12 p.m. through Tuesday, July 31 at 4 p.m.
“We are always looking for unique ways to give our fans the opportunity to own exclusive items, at the same time supporting charitable endeavors in the Greater Philadelphia Region“ said Mary Ann Saleski, Comcast-Spectacor Foundation Senior Vice President.
The Briere contract pen, which he also signed with a silver Sharpie, along with items such as the jersey that Scott Hartnell
wore to his introductory press conference, is among the seven items available in this on-line auction. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation, the charitable arm of the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm Comcast-Spectacor.
In addition to the Briere pen and Hartnell jersey, the auction includes: the Flyers hat worn by first round draft pick James van Riemsdyk
, which he signed moments after walking off the stage at the 2007 NHL Draft on June 22; the autographed jersey Briere wore to his press conference on July 12; a Flyers Draft Party sign autographed by Flyers forward Sami Kapanen on June 22; a Flyers Trial on the Isle T-shirt autographed by Flyers mini-camp participants; and an autographed Todd Fedoruk game-worn Philadelphia Flyers helmet from the 2006-07 season.
