Flyers Count Down to Home Opener

It’s back! The Philadelphia Flyers are celebrating the return of hockey season with a slew of fan-centric pop-up events, giveaways, and more. Fans across the Greater Philadelphia Region are invited to get Flyer’d up, beginning Thursday, October 1 at the immensely popular Night Market and running through to the team’s home opener, October 12 against the Florida Panthers.


Fans can keep an eye out for the Flyers Street Team, set to pop up in several locations throughout the area with #PlayBoldly giveaways, special guests, and of course, tickets to opening night for lucky winners.

Thursday, October 1, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Night Market, Girard and Frankford Aves., Philadelphia, PA 19125
•    Due to inclement weather, the Flyers crew and Danny Briere will not be at tonight’s Night Market. 

Saturday, October 3, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Chaddsford Winery, 632 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA 19317
•    Fans can enjoy the release of Chaddsford Winery’s 2015 Flyers Wine and even get their Flyers Wine bottles signed by legendary alum Bob “The Hound” Kelly. The Flyers Street Team will also be on-site with giveaways. 

Sunday, October 4, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Flyers Skate Zone, Northeast Philadelphia, 10990 Decatur Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154
•    The Flyers Street Team will be on-hand to kick off Skate Zone’s Public Skate with signed items and giveaways. Fans who wear a Flyers jersey that day will receive a free skate rental, and those who buy a Flyers jersey or player t-shirt in Skate Zone’s store will receive free admission to Public Skate that day.

Monday, October 5, all day
Toyota Cup Fan of the Year Kickoff, Toyota Fan Zone at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com
•    Calling all Flyers super fans! Toyota’s search for the ultimate Flyers fan kicks off on Monday, October 5. Fans can enter for a chance to win a pair of 2016-17 season tickets, autographed items, and a chance to present the trophy on-ice to the winner of the 2015-16 Toyota Cup during Team Awards Night. •    The entire Flyers roster and coaching staff will mix and mingle with fans at this brand new event for Flyers season ticket members. Fans can play tailgate games with their favorite Flyer, snap photos with a member of the team at a Flyers ‘selfie station,’ square off against a Flyer while playing ‘Flyers Feud,’ and rub elbows with notable Flyers alumni and personalities including Danny Briere, Bob Clarke, Steve Coates, Jim Jackson, Tim Saunders, and Chris Therien. •    Fans can enjoy mini golf and pumpkin picking at this Montgomery County fall favorite. The Flyers Street Team will be on-hand with signed items and giveaways.

•    In addition to enjoying the pub’s signature crab fries, the first two fans to meet the Flyers Street Team will win one pair of tickets each to the Flyers home opener.

Season Opener: Thursday, October 8, 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.
Dunkin' Donuts, 11 S Burnt Mill Rd, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043
•    Flyers legend Bernie Parent will be stepping behind the Dunkin’ Donuts counter to serve up coffee and special orange and black Flyers donuts to fans. In addition, fans can also take photos with the Flyers Ice Girls, enjoy special Dunkin’ Donuts giveaways, and enter for a chance to win one of four pairs of tickets to the home opener on October 12.

Friday, October 9, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

•    The Flyers Street Team hits South Jersey with more giveaways during the lunch hour on Friday, October 9. Rastelli’s will also offer free samples of cheese, dips, meat, and seafood throughout the store.

Home Opener: Monday, October 12, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Season Kickoff Caravan, various locations throughout Philadelphia
•    Fans can follow the Flyers as they celebrate in advance of opening night in style—with a multi-vehicle, giveaway-throwing, star-studded caravan throughout Center City. The caravan will wind its way from the stadiums up Broad St. and around City Hall, then make its way down Chestnut St. to Old City and back.

Wednesday, October 14, 8 p.m.
Kimmo Timonen Retirement Night, Flyers vs. Blackhawks game, Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA
•    Hot on the heels of the Flyers home opener, the team will honor the retirement of Flyers alum Kimmo Timonen.

•    Fans can celebrate the return of hockey season by lacing up their sneakers for the annual Flyers 5K benefiting Flyers Charities. Registration for the annual family-friendly race is now open at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com/5K.
