by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have assigned center Scott Laughton and defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere to their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

In addition, right wing Zack Stortini has been put on waivers for the purpose of loaning him to the Phantoms.

Laughton appeared in four preseason games with the Flyers, posting a goal and two assists for three points and a plus-1 rating.

Gostisbehere recorded two goals and added an assist in three preseason games with the Flyers, recording six shots on goal while averaging just under 18 minutes of ice-time per game, including a high of 21:14 vs. Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Sept. 29.

Stortini appeared in four preseason games with the Flyers, going scoreless and recording 48 penalty minutes.

The moves leave a total of 27 active players remaining on the training camp roster, not including injured players Chris Pronger, Kimmo Timonen, Ryan White and Matt Konan.

The Flyers play their preseason finale on Thursday when they travel to Washington to take on the Capitals at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on CSN and broadcast on 97.5 The Fanatic.
