The Flyers will be looking to make it five straight road victories tonight and match their five-game streak, which happened during the same time period four years ago (Dec. 2-15, 2011)… During the streak, Wayne Simmonds has recorded a point in all four games with seven points (4g-3a), while defenseman Michael Del Zotto also has a four-game road point streak, recording an assist during the four games streak… Matt Read has points in three of the four road games (2g-1a)… The Flyers have points in 12 of the last 17 contests, going 8-5-4… The Flyers also play the second of games on back-to-back nights, both of which have been on the road, after their 4-2 win over the Blues in St. Louis, while the Stars had a full two days off between home games coming off a high-scoring 6-5 victory over Carolina… The Flyers are 2-3-0 in the second of games on back to back nights.
The Stars have the NHL’s best record with 44 points and come in with the most wins (21), including regulation & overtime wins (20), most goals scored (98), goals per-game (3.50), goals scored in the first period (30) and goals in the third period (40) and most goals scored at 5 on 5 (61)… The Stars have the best scoring duo in the NHL in Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, who each have 39 points and have three players in the NHL Top 10 of scoring with defenseman John Klingberg posting 30 points… They own the second best power-play in the NHL at 25.6 percent, the second most power-play goals (22)… Dallas has also collected points in three of their last four home games against the Flyers (1-1-2) and in four of their last five overall (3-1-1), including the first meeting of the year, a 2-1 win on Oct. 20.
The Flyers are 4-3-3 against the Western Conference with all four of their wins coming against the Central Division… Brayden Schenn has a three-game point streak with four assists in his last three games - he also has points in six of his last nine games with seven points (1g-6a) in that stretch… Ryan White has goals in two straight games… Michal Neuvirth leads all NHL goaltenders in save percentage at .938, while his 1.99 GAA is tied with Henrik Lundqvist for third behind Braden Holtby and Ben Bishop (1.95)… Tyler Seguin has 20 points (9g-11a) in 15 career games against the Flyers, but has recorded over two points per-game in his last five games against the Flyers with 12 points (4g-8a)… John Klingberg ranks second among all NHL defensemen in scoring with 30 points in 28 games - he also leads the Stars in assists (25) which ranks third among all players in the NHL.
Hard not to go with the Flyers captain for the second straight game… Giroux has posted three multi-point games in his last four outings, recording three goals and four assists for seven points.. He recorded three points (1g-2a), including the game-winning goal in the Flyers win in St. Louis and now has eight multi-point games on the season… Against the Stars, Giroux has nine points (3g-6a) in 10 career games, including six of those nine points coming at Dallas (2g-4a) and a four-point game at Dallas on Dec. 21, 2011. The 26-year-old leads all players in the NHL with 19 goals and ranks second overall in points with 39 through 28 games… Benn has tallied at least one point in 21 of the first 28 games this season, including 12 multi-point games… Against the Flyers, Benn factored into both goals in the 2-1 win with a goal and an assist, including the game-winning-goal… He also averages a point per-game in his career with nine points (4g-5a) in nine games and has points in seven of his last eight games against the Flyers.
