The Flyers kick off a five-game road trip, that will last 11 days, and face all Eastern Conference opponents… The trip will also see them play four games in a seven-day span… The Flyers also play the second of games on back-to-back days after dropping a 2-1 decision in overtime against the Devils on Saturday… The Flyers own a 3-5-0 record in the back end of back-to-backs… The Flyers have dropped four of their last five games (1-2-2), but have earned points in six of their last eight games (4-2-2)… The Rangers have points in each of their last five games, going 4-0-1, but dropped their last game, 5-4 in overtime to the Kings on Friday… The Rangers are also unbeaten in regulation at Madison Square Garden in their last nine games, going 7-0-2 since their last defeat on Dec. 20.

This is the fifth and final game of the season series, with the Flyers posting a 2-1-1 record… Neither team has scored more than three goals in any of the four previous games… Three have been decided in a shootout and all by a 3-2 score, including the last two meetings, both won by the Rangers… Derek Stepan is 2-for-2 in the shootout this year against the Flyers, while Mats Zuccarello is 2-for-3… Steve Mason has a lifetime mark of 7-3-3 with a 2.14 GAA and .934 against the Rangers, while Henrik Lundqvist has a 30-13-4 mark with four shutouts, a 2.44 GAA and .918 save percentage against the Flyers… The Flyers are looking to win their third game of the season series against the Rangers for the first time since they went 4-1-1 in 2010-11.
Claude Giroux leads the Flyers in scoring with 46 points in 54 games, while ranking second in both assists (30) and goals (16)… Jakub Voracek leads the Flyers in assists (35) while Wayne Simmonds leads in goals (20)… Shayne Gostisbehere leads the team’s defense and is tied for fourth overall on the team in scoring with 30 points (10-20a) in just 36 games - Gostisbehere is on an 11-game point streak which is an NHL record for a rookie defenseman… He leads all rookie defensemen in goals, assists and points having played 18 less games than the next d-man (STL - Parayko)… Mats Zuccarello leads the Rangers in both goals (19) and points (41) through 55 games this season… He is one of four players to have appeared in all 55 games for the Rangers this season… Defenseman Keith Yandle leads the Rangers in assists (26), while Derick Brassard leads the squad with a plus-minus rating of +16… Despite missing 10 games due to injury, including the last eight games, Rick Nash leads the team in shots on goal (149).
Wayne Simmonds leads the team with 20 goals and has recorded 10 of those goals in his last 14 games, where he has also posted 14 points (10g-4a)… He leads all players in the season series vs. the Rangers in both goals (3) and points (5), as well as plus-minus (+4)…Simmonds has six points (3g-3a) in eight games that are the second in back-to-backs… Lifetime against the Rangers, Simmonds has 11 goals and 18 points to go along with 60 penalty minutes in 27 contests. Yandle has seven points (2g-5a) in his last 10 games… He leads the Rangers defense and is tied for fourth on the team 30 points (4g-26a)… His 26 assists leads the team and he is one of two defensemen to have appeared in all 55 games for the Rangers… He recorded the game-tying goal with 12 seconds left in the third period in the last meeting with the Flyers, forcing overtime and an eventual Rangers shootout win… He has eight points (3g-5a) in 14 career games against the Flyers, including two points (1g-1a) in this year’s season series.
