The Flyers take on the Rangers in their seventh game of the preseason and finale on home ice… Both games the Flyers have won this preseason have come at the Wells Fargo Center, where they have scored a combined nine goals in the two contests… The Flyers have been fairly successful in their preseason finale at home, posting a 3-1-1 record in the last five preseasons… The Flyers will end their eight-game preseason at Washington on Thursday, Oct. 2, giving them a full five days off before starting the regular season at Boston on Oct. 8.

The Flyers wrap up their home-and-home series against the Rangers tonight after dropping a 6-3 contest at MSG last night… Tonight’s game is also the third game in as many nights for the Flyers… Tonight is just the third home-and-home preseason series against the Rangers in the last 12 seasons (2002 & 2007) — in both of those instances, the team’s split victories… During the regular season last year, the Flyers posted a perfect 2-0-0 record at home against the Rangers and won two of the three home games in the First Round of the playoffs.

The Flyers now have a 7-for-12 mark on the man advantage so far through two games at the Wells Fargo Center… Both of Brayden Schenn and Vincent Lecavalier’s goals in the preseason have come on the power play… The Flyers have four players (Morin, Rinaldo, Akeson & Raffl) who will play their fifth preseason game tonight for the Flyers - the most on the team… The Rangers primary back-up goaltender last season, Cam Talbot, will get the start for the Rangers, while Ray Emery will be between the pipes for the Flyers… Mat Bodie, who captained Union College to the NCAA title along with Flyers prospect Shayne Gostisbehere, is in the line-up for the Rangers tonight.

4. PLAYER TO WATCH - FLYERS: (C: #28 - Claude Giroux)
Giroux will be playing in his first preseason game tonight after suffering a lower-body injury in the first minutes of Training Camp on Day 1… The Flyers captain led the team last season in points (86), assists (58), power-play points (37) and game-winning-goals (7), while finishing third in the NHL points race and was a Hart Trophy Finalist… Should he score tonight, there stands a good chance that the team will win — the Flyers had a 21-2-1 record when Giroux scored a goal & 33-15-4 mark when he recorded a point last season.

5. PLAYER TO WATCH - NY RANGERS: (LW: #63 - Anthony Duclair)
Duclair has had an impressive preseason for the Rangers, posting four points in two pre-season games to lead the Blueshirts in scoring thus far… He had a goal and an assist in the Rangers victory over the Flyers last night… Duclair was the Rangers’ third-round pick (80th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft… He is coming off a season in which he posted 50 goals and 99 points in 59 games for the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.
