Four goals in a pair of games has Andrew Mangiapane earning Prospect Of The Week honours.
The 19-year-old, who was the Flames' sixth round selection in the 2015 NHL Draft, was the first star in a 4-1 Barrie Colts win over the Oshawa Generals last Thursday, scoring the game's opening goal off a ill-timed line change by the Generals.
Spotting the gap, Mangiapane hurried up ice, took a lead pass from Kevin Lebanc, and beat Oshawa goaltender Jeremy Brodeur with a slap shot that went bar down.
On Saturday night, Mangipane helped the Colts extend their winning streak to five games with a three-goal performance in Barrie's 6-3 victory over the Mississauga Steelheads. He was named the first star for a second straight game.
In the first period, Mangiapane tied things up against the Steelheads when he converted on a cross-crease pass from Julius Nattinen.
The winger scored his second goal of the night at the 7:12 mark of the second period, thanks to another Nattinen pass. It was his 100th OHL goal, coming in his 177th game in the league.
Mangiapane completed his second hat trick in the last eight days later on in the middle frame, backhanding the puck over the goaltender's glove for his 34th goal of the year.
Through 41 games, the forward has 34 goals and 65 points, ranking him third and ninth in the league in those respective categories.
