CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Hitmen have lost the services of one of their top forwards, Pavel Karnaukhov, due to an upper body injury sustained by 18-year-old on Oct. 18.
Karnaukhov has been deemed week-to-week by the Hitmen medical staff.
The Minsk, Belarus product has scored two goals and five points in nine games this year, his second season in the Western Hockey League. In his rookie WHL campaign, Karnaukhov posted 20 goals and 42 points in 69 skates.
The Calgary Flames drafted Karnaukhov in the fifth round (136th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft. The Hitmen selected him 56th overall in the 2014 CHL Import Draft.
The Hitmen's next home game takes place on Thursday, Sept. 29 when they host the Spokane Chiefs at 7:00 PM. It is Fan Celebration Night with $10,000 in prizes to be given away including Hitmen season tickets, signed Hitmen sticks and jerseys, and Flames, Stampeders and Roughnecks tickets.
