Player Spotlight: Five minutes with Andrew Ference

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames

Throughout the 2005-06 regular season www.calgaryflames.com will sit down one-on-one with players and have a little fun while finding out a little more about the player on a personal side.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, defenceman Andrew Ference was acquired from Pittsburgh February 10, 2003 in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2003-04 season, Ference posted a new career high in points when he tallied 16 (4g, 12a).

Ference looks to top that record this year and he's well on his way to doing it. During the first three months of play in the 2005-06 season, Ference has already managed to record 13 points, including two goals and 11 assists.

This speedy defenceman has not missed a game since the start of the season and averages 18:22 of ice time a game.
