Palin set for AHL all-star appearance

Moline, IL- The American Hockey League announced the roster today for the Canadian AHL All-Star Team. 


Quad City defenceman  Brett Palin was selected to represent the Flames during the event on January 26th in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Quad City Flames are the top affiliate of the Calgary Flames.

Palin is in his fourth professional season.  He has recorded a career high 11 points (two goals and nine assists) this season.  He leads the Flames in plus-minus rating at plus six. 

The 2008-09 campaign marks Palin’s fourth season in the Calgary organization.  He led the 2007-08 Flames in plus-minus (plus 14).  He also skated in 142 games for the Omaha Ak-Sar Ben Knights over the course of the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. 

The 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League competing in the 2009 AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, January 25 (4:00 p.m. ET), and the 2009 AHL All-Star Game on Monday, January 26 (7:00 p.m. ET).

The event will be televised nationally in the United States and Canada.
