CALGARY, AB -- As part of the Flames Better Halves annual holiday fundraising initiative, the Flame Better Halves will be in the concourse in section 227 tonight and on Thursday, December 12th collecting shoeboxes full of women’s items to be delivered to Inn from the Cold during the holiday season. Fans bringing shoeboxes are requested to ensure they are not wrapped as they enter the building. Autographed pucks will also be sold in benefit of the Inn from the Cold shoebox initiative.

The Flames will also highlight work done in the community by their charitable arm, the Flames Foundation for Life. As part of the evening a ceremonial puck drop will take place with a representative from the Kids Cancer Care Foundation’s Camp Kindle and a representative from the Canadian Red Cross. This June the Flames Foundation for Life made a $1 million donation to the Canadian Red Cross in benefit of flood relief efforts in Alberta and a $1 million commitment to Camp Kindle through the Kids Cancer Care Foundation.

Also as part of the game night, Flames Foundation for Life t-shirts will be on sale in FanAttic stores for $24.99 will proceeds being donated to the Flames Foundation for Life. As attendees enter then building the 50-50 pot will be started at $100,000 guaranteeing one lucky fan leaves with at least $50,000.

Inn from the Cold provides assistance to homeless families. The Flames Foundation for Life is the charitable arm of the Calgary Flames through which millions of dollars in funding have already been directed to education, health and wellness initiatives and grassroots and amateur sports.
