CALGARY, AB -- During tonight’s game, Friday, March 29th, versus the Columbus Blue Jackets, Theoren Fleury will be in the Scotiabank Saddledome to promote the Victor Movement and Victor Walk. The Victor Movement is a high-profile campaign to raise awareness of child sexual abuse.
Fleury will be in section 227 on the Scotiabank Saddledome concourse from 6:00 p.m. through to the end of the second intermission to meet with Flames fans, sign autographs, and distribute information on the Victor Walk.
The Victor Walk is scheduled to start at the Child Abuse Monument in Toronto on May 14th, 2013 when thousands of Canadians are expected to join the walk, which will end on the steps of Parliament on May 23rd. The Victor Walk will raise awareness and show support for those who have fallen victim of sexual abuse.
The Victor Movement campaign spearheaded by Fleury and his organization, Theo Fleury14, aims to raise awareness for child sexual abuse as well as funding for organizations providing healing in Canada. The Calgary Flames will assist in the promotion of the event with in-game messaging throughout the game.
