Flames release two coaches

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they will not be exercising the Club options on the contracts of assistant coaches Rob Cookson and Jamie McLennan for the 2011-12 season. McLennan has been offered another position within the organization and is considering that opportunity.

“While our comprehensive review of the hockey department is ongoing, we believe it is important that when decisions are made with respect to personnel, we communicate those decisions in a timely manner,” said Flames Acting General Manager Jay Feaster.

“As further decisions are finalized we will continue the process of informing our staff and releasing information as expeditiously as possible.”

The post season review process continues for the organization with no set final time table for completion.
