by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames

- The Calgary Flames announced today their 2015-16 regular season schedule. Calgary kicks off the '15-‘16 campaign with a home-and-home battle with divisional rival Vancouver Canucks starting on Wednesday, October 7th at the Scotiabank Saddledome before they travel to Vancouver and play at Rogers Arena on Saturday, October 10th.

The Flames will play each divisional opponent five times, with the exception of Los Angeles who they will face in four games. Calgary will play each Central Division opponent three times and will play all Eastern Conference opponents twice (once home and once away).

The Flames host the Los Angeles Kings on New Year's Eve on Thursday, December 31st. The Christmas schedule also includes home games against Dallas (December 1st), Boston (December 4th), San Jose (December 8th), Buffalo (December 10th), New York Rangers (December 12th), Winnipeg (December 22nd), Edmonton (December 27th), and Anaheim (December 29th).

Calgary’s longest home stand this season is six games and runs from March 7th – March 18th as San Jose, Nashville, Arizona, St. Louis, Winnipeg and Colorado visit the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Calgary’s longest road trip is a five-game trek starting at Rexall Arena versus the Edmonton Oilers on January 16th with stops in New Jersey, Columbus, and Carolina, and concludes in Dallas on January 25th.

The Eastern Conference Canadian teams will play at the Scotiabank Saddledome once each with Montreal coming October 30th, Toronto on February 9th and Ottawa here on February 27th.

The Flames will travel to face the three Canadian teams in the Eastern Conference in Ottawa October 28th, and Montreal and Toronto on back-to-back nights, facing the Habs at the Bell Centre on March 20th before heading to Air Canada Centre against the Leafs on March 21st. Calgary will also travel to Winnipeg to face Western Conference rivals, the Jets, on October 16th.

The day-by-day breakdown is as follows: Monday (9), Tuesday (17), Wednesday (9), Thursday (13), Friday (12), Saturday (15) and Sunday (7). Other schedule notables include hosting the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks twice, November 20th and March 26th. The Flames also face the Eastern Conference champion Tampa Bay Lightning for their first home game of 2016 on January 5th. Calgary plays back-to-back 12 times in addition to 16 home stints and 16 road trips.

The Calgary Flames will break for the NHL All-Star Weekend hosted by Nashville from January 30th – 31st.

All Flames home and away games will be carried live on the FAN 960 radio. The complete television schedule will be released in August.
