Defenceman Negrin joins farm team

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced Wednesday the assignment of defenseman John Negrin to Quad City of the American Hockey League.

Negrin, a 6”3”, 200lb rearguard who was a Flames 3rd round draft pick in 2007, split the 2008-09 WHL season between the Kootenay Ice and the Swift Current Broncos.

The Broncos season came to an end last night following a seven-game first round defeat at the hands of the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Negrin recorded six playoff points (2 goals and 4 assists); only two points shy of the lead among WHL defencemen while finishing second on Broncos overall team scoring.
