Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation to participate in Calgary Pride Parade

CALGARY, AB -- Representatives from the Calgary Sport and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) will join tens of thousands of fans and spectators in celebrating Pride Week festivities in Calgary by participating in the annual Pride Parade on Sunday afternoon.

Calgary Flames President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke will be serving as this year’s Parade Grand Marshal.

“I am very pleased and proud to be chosen as Parade Grand Marshal for this year’s Pride Parade. I’m looking forward to Sunday and marching alongside other members of our community including You Can Play and several representatives from Calgary Sports & Entertainment,” said Burke.

A supporter of the LGBTQA community, Burke, alongside his son Patrick, helped found You Can Play, an advocacy program that challenges sports teams to stamp out discrimination based on sexual orientation.
