The original mandate of the Flames Ownership Group, that is still prominent today, was to ensure that the Calgary Flames would make a positive impact on the quality of life for all Calgarians. The entire Flames family understands the importance of taking an active role in the community and are proud to support the following initiatives over the holiday season.
December 20th - Flames vs. Minnesota Wild
Calgary Food Bank Game
The Flames organization is proud to recognize the contribution of the Calgary Food Bank in our community, helping those less fortunate. On December 20th, volunteers will be on hand to accept food and cash donations at the Scotiabank Saddledome before and during the game against the Minnesota Wild.
December 22nd - Flames vs. Detroit Red Wings
United Way Game
The Calgary Flames and United Way will once again team up on December 22nd to help change social conditions and create opportunities for a better life for individuals, families and communities. Tables will be set-up on the main concourse of the Scotiabank Saddledome before and during the game for Flames fans to donate and 50/50 proceeds from that evening will also benefit the United Way.
The Salvation Army also benefited from the generosity of Calgarians and hockey fans alike over the past month when they were set up on the concourse at the December 6th and 8th Flames games. They were also in attendance at the Annual Calgary Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss Game.
