Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that forward Lance Bouma has been assigned to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.
Bouma, a native of Provost, AB, appeared in 5 games with the Flames in his first call up to the NHL. During that time he recorded his first NHL point, an assist. Playing in his first professional season, he has recorded 11 goals and 8 assists for 19 points while accumulating 49 penalty minutes in 49 games with the Heat. Bouma was Calgary’s 3rd round pick (78th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The Heat are currently in Calgary preparing for their game with the Oklahoma City Barons on Friday, February 18th at 7:00 p.m. The AHL match up at the Scotiabank Saddledome is part of the Face-Off in the Foothills which features the 2011 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic between the Calgary Flames and the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday, February 20th at McMahon Stadium.
