Backlund reassigned to Heat

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today forward Mikael Backlund has been reassigned to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

 
Backlund, a native of Vasteras, Sweden played in nine games with the Calgary Flames during the call-up. He scored his first NHL goal on January 28th in Phoenix and earned his first NHL assist on January 30th versus Edmonton.
