Annual celebrity roast features John Forzani

Calgary, AB –The Calgary Flames Ambassadors Celebrity Roast will toast and roast Forzani Group creator, Calgary Stampeders co-owner and former Calgary Stampeder, John Forzani.

The event will take place on the floor of the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday, November 29th, 2012. Roasters include; Ken King, Basil Bark, Doug Mitchell, John Hufnagel and Bob Sartor with Billy Powers and the Master of Ceremonies. All proceeds from the event will be directed to the Flames Foundation for Life and the Forzani Foundation.

“Roasts are always somewhat embarrassing to someone, and now I'm the roastee, exciting! I don’t expect to be treated kindly, but do hope to have a few zingers during the rebuttal.... all for two of my favorite charities,” said John Forzani.

The annual fundraiser which has raised over $1 million over the past eight years will direct this year’s proceeds to the Flames Foundation for Life and the Forzani Foundation. The Flames Ambassadors Celebrity Roast Gala’s have raised over $1 million in the last eight years. Former roastees including; Craig Conroy, Jim Kinnear, Lanny McDonald, Jim Peplinski, Darryl Sutter, Ken King, Harley Hotchkiss and the Seaman brothers.

The Forzani Foundation support the promotion of physical fitness, health and wellness, the prevention and relief of sickness and disability and the promotion of participation and education in sports.

The Flames Foundation for Life continues to touch the lives of thousands of people through its commitment to education, medical research, health, amateur sports and recreation. The Calgary Flames continue to give back to the community through community relations and Flames Foundation for Life programming.
