About Last Night: Keep rolling

by Torie Peterson / Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames headed into the Lone Star State on Thursday in hopes of keeping their winning streak going against the NHL's top team, the Dallas Stars. The Stars were an ornery bunch ahead of the game, not pleased with their efforts in recent games, and the Flames knew they would be need a strong all-around effort in order to remain undefeated in December.

They did just that. Three unanswered goals led the Flames to a 3-1 win and their seventh straight win!

After Dallas opened the scoring in the first period, it was Sean Monahan who tied the game up. Johnny Gaudreau chipped the puck up along the boards and Monahan went in on a two-on-one with David Jones ... and finished perfectly.

Then, Dougie Hamilton made it a 2-1 game with just 27.3 seconds left in the first period!

Mason Raymond gave his team a two-goal lead in the second period, taking advantage of a great screen by Mikael Backlund and David Jones.

While it was a well-rounded performance from the entire team, Ramo stole the show with his 35-save performance.

The boys are back in action on Saturday in St. Louis! It's an afternoon game so get settled after lunch for a 1:00 PM MT puck drop on Sportsnet West!
