This is the place for exclusive interviews, content, recaps, and the best broadcasting personalities in sports. Josh Bogorad, Daryl "Razor" Reaugh, Brien Rea, and Brent Severyn are the voices to listen to for your latest and greatest coverage.

Bally Sports+ is the all-new streaming service from Bally Sports that gives you direct access to your favorite hometown teams. Bally Sports+ officially launched widely across all Bally Sports regions on September 26, 2022. You will have direct access to your local teams and original programming at home and on the go, including regional Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Wings games.

The Ticket

Sportsradio 96.7 FM and 1310 The Ticket enters its 15th season as the flagship radio home of Dallas Stars hockey and will broadcast all 82 regular-season games. Catch the postgame show with Bruce Levine and Owen Newkirk following each game all season long.

Josh Bogorad

TV/Radio Play-By-Play Announcer

Josh Bogorad is in his 11th season with the Stars broadcast team, and his sixth as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster on Bally Sports Southwest and Sportsradio 96.7 FM and 1310AM The Ticket. Prior to his current role, he served as the host of Stars Live, the pregame, intermission and postgame show during Stars broadcasts on FOX Sports Southwest. Bogorad joined the Stars in 2013 as the pregame, intermission and postgame radio host on The Ticket.

Since becoming the Stars’ play-by-play broadcaster, Bogorad was voted the 2020 Texas Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association and won the 2022 Lone Star Sports EMMY in the Play-by-Play category.

Before joining the Stars, Bogorad served as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL and the Corpus Christi IceRays of the CHL. In 2011 Bogorad was voted ECHL Broadcaster of the Year. He was voted the CHL’s Best Broadcaster in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He won the CHL’s Communications Executive of the Year Award in 2007

 

A native of Los Angeles, Bogorad began his broadcasting career as a sports correspondent on 97.1 FM KLSX. He attended the University of Arizona, where he served as a broadcaster for the school’s hockey team. Bogorad and his wife, Andrea, live in Frisco, Texas with their two sons, Mason and Aaron.

Daryl "Razor" Reaugh

TV/Radio Color Analyst

Daryl Reaugh is in his 27th season on Stars television and radio broadcasts and his 25th as the team’s color analyst. For two seasons from 2016-18, Reaugh had served as the team’s play-by-play announcer in the wake of Dave Strader’s cancer diagnosis. Named by the Sports Business Journal as one of the 2017 Regional Sports Networks Power Players, he moved back to his role as color analyst, for which he has won 12 Lone Star Emmy awards.

Reaugh came to Dallas from the Hartford Whalers, where he served as the color analyst on SportsChannel New England’s telecasts during the 1995-96 campaign. He has also demonstrated his expertise on the national stage, having worked with Versus, NBC Sports Network, ABC, ESPN, FOX and CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada.

Additionally, Reaugh expanded his talents beyond the broadcast booth as he provided the color analyst dialogue and voice for EA Sports’ NHL ‘98 and NHL ‘99 video games and is active on Twitter: @Razor5Hole and Instagram: @Razor4real.

As a player, Reaugh was a 1984 second-round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers and his career included stints with both the Oilers and the Hartford Whalers. Prior to turning pro, he was an all-star netminder for the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League and was named to their 25th Anniversary Team.

 

Reaugh, his wife, Kristin, who was instrumental in starting the Dallas Stars Foundation, have two daughters, Falyn and Kendyl.

Brien Rea

TV Analyst

Brien Rea is in his sixth season with the Stars broadcast team and returns to the host role after spending the previous three as a television analyst. He spent his first three seasons as the host of Stars Live from 2018-21. In 2023, Rea won two Lone Star Emmy awards for Sports Program - Live (Jamie Benn’s 1,000th game) and Anchor - Sports Program. He won his first Lone Star Emmy in 2021 for Sports Program - Live (Stars Live - Return To The Stanley Cup Final).

Prior to joining the Stars broadcast team, Rea spent four seasons as the play-by-play announcer for the Texas Stars, Dallas’ development affiliate in the American Hockey League. In addition to his broadcasting duties, he also served as director of broadcasting and media relations for Texas and oversaw the team’s public relations efforts.

Prior to his stint with Texas, Rea spent six years (2007-2013) as a play-by-play broadcaster for four different teams in the CHL, including the Texas-based Austin Ice Bats and Odessa Jackalopes. Rea has called more than 700 professional regular-season and postseason hockey games in his career. In 2013, he was voted the CHL’s Best Broadcaster with the Denver Cutthroats, while also earning New Media Franchise of the Year honors overseeing the team’s communications efforts. He was also selected to call the CHL All-Star Game in 2011 and 2012.

 

The St. Louis, Missouri native began his broadcasting career while attending Lake Forest College, where he served as the broadcaster for the men’s hockey and football teams from 2003-05 while also working for WGN Television in Chicago.

Brent Severyn

TV Analyst

Brent Severyn is in his 20th season as an analyst for the Dallas Stars broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest.

A native of Vegreville, Alberta, Severyn has a diverse hockey background. A seven-year NHL veteran with 13 years of professional hockey experience, he has played at many levels since leaving his hometown. They include the Western Hockey League, Canadian University, American Hockey League and the DEL in Germany.

Originally selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the fifth round of the 1984 NHL Draft, Severyn was an all-star at the Canadian University level and a first team all-star in the AHL. Severyn has won a championship with the Munich Barons in the DEL, a bronze medal in the 1983 World Universiade Games in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia and finished his NHL career in 1999 as a member of the Stanley Cup-winning Dallas Stars.

Severyn’s broadcast journey has mirrored his hockey career in its multiformity. He has worked both as a TV and radio NHL color analyst and TV studio analyst, and has honed his craft for several companies, including Bally Sports Southwest/Fox Sports Southwest, NHL Network, NBC Universal Sports, A&E, NBC Dallas, Anaheim Ducks, Channel 8 WFAA (ABC) and KXAS (NBC affiliate), to name a few.

 

Severyn and his family reside in Plano, Texas. He has spent the past 26 years working directly with (and promoting) hockey in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Bruce LeVine

Radio Analyst

Bruce LeVine is in his 14th season as a member of the Dallas Stars radio broadcast team. Since 2010, LeVine has been heard on Sportsradio 1310 AM and 96.7 FM The Ticket as an analyst and co-host. Prior to joining the Stars, LeVine was a broadcaster at all levels of hockey, including stints with the New York Islanders and the ECHL’s Louisiana IceGators and Arkansas RiverBlades. LeVine has an extensive background in international hockey serving as the KHL’s United States television play-by-play voice and for the IIHF during the U-18 World Championship in 2021. LeVine has also been a contributor to ESPN.com’s NHL coverage and occasionally writes for the DallasStars.com.

LeVine began his broadcasting career at WFAA Channel 8 (ABC) in Dallas in 1983. Serving in several capacities within the channel’s sports department, he earned six Katie Awards from the Dallas Press Club, a UPI award for Sports Story of the Year, an AP award for outstanding reporting, and a Heartland Emmy Award. A native of Brooklyn, New York, LeVine resides in Plano, Texas with his wife, Sherry. They have four children; Shane (25), Franklin (23), Marly (23) and Daniel (16).

Owen Newkirk

Radio Host

Owen Newkirk is in his 10th season with the Dallas Stars radio broadcast team as a pregame, intermission and postgame host on Sportsradio 1310 and 96.7 FM The Ticket.

A native of Blue Hill, Maine, Newkirk spent seven seasons in the American Hockey League, most recently serving as the director of broadcasting and media relations for Dallas’ AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars (2012-14), winning the Calder Cup with the team in 2014.

Now in his 21st season of broadcasting professional hockey, Newkirk, 43, was part of Binghamton’s run to the 2011 Calder Cup Final and was a member of the AHL Live broadcast team that called the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester, Massachusetts. Prior to his time in the AHL, he was director of broadcasting for the ECHL’s Elmira Jackals for four seasons (2003-07).

In addition to his hockey experience, Newkirk is in his fifth season calling games for FC Dallas (MLS) on both radio and television and serves as an occasional fill-in host for Sportsradio 1310 and 96.7 FM The Ticket. He has also broadcast for the Albany Firebirds (Arena Football2 – 2007-09) and Berkshire Black Bears (independent baseball - 2003).

 

Newkirk is a graduate of Haverford College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in astronomy.

With 75 weekly national games and 1000+ out-of-market games available, ESPN+ is home to the widest selection of NHL games anywhere this season! Out-of-market games available through ESPN+ will include both the “home” and “away” team broadcasts. Additionally, select games will be available with Spanish-language audio. If you can’t find the NHL game you’re looking for, it’s possible a regional blackout is in effect. Also keep in mind that ESPN+ is only available to stream within the US.
