All guests are encouraged to arrive and enter the Truly Hard Seltzer NHL PreGame and Cotton Bowl® Stadium early to alleviate long security screening lines. Please note that entry into The PreGame requires a 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® ticket.
Truly Hard Seltzer NHL® PreGame

The Truly Hard Seltzer NHL PreGame™ is the official fan festival of the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® and will be open on Wednesday, January 1st from 9:00AM - 8:00PM CT at Cotton Bowl® Plaza and at The State Fair of Texas® Midway from 9:00AM - 12:30PM CT and from Postgame until 8:00PM CT. The PreGame will offer fans of all ages, family-friendly hockey interactive games and attractions, live music and an opportunity to take a picture with the greatest trophy in sports, the Stanley Cup®. Located inside The State Fair of Texas® Midway, fans will be able to ride select rides for FREE including, but not limited to the Texas Star® Ferris Wheel, Top o' Texas Tower, Texas Skyway (entrance to ride is located in Cotton Bowl® Plaza), Pirate Ship and Lone Star Scooters (aka the Bumper Cars). Please note: Only fans with tickets to the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® will be able to access The Truly Hard Seltzer NHL PreGame™ festivities. Join the conversation on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram by tagging your photos using NHL #WinterClassic 

NHL® Fan Code of Conduct

The NHL® and its Member Clubs are committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment and enjoyable entertainment experience. NHL® fans have a right to expect an environment in which they will be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by all venue, team, and NHL®League personnel, as well as by other fans. The players and officials have the same rights. Accordingly, fans are responsible for their own conduct. The following standards have been established with respect to fan conduct:

  • Fans are entitled to enjoy a hockey experience free from disruptive or inconsiderate behaviors or unruly actions.
  • Fans may not interfere with the event and/or athletes in any manner.
  • Fans shall refrain from using abusive, discriminatory or hateful language or obscene gestures.
  • Fans may not engage in fighting, throwing objects, or other behaviors deemed detrimental to the experience of other guests and those who engage in any of these activities will immediately be ejected from the game.
  • Fans are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior to venue staff.
  • Fans who choose to consume alcohol must do so in a legal and responsible manner. Intervention with an intoxicated or impaired fan will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
  • Fans shall comply with requests from venue staff regarding venue operational and emergency procedures.
  • Fans may not engage in unauthorized commercial activity while on venue property.

Violation of the NHL® Fan Code of Conduct may result in eviction from the venue without a ticket refund. the NHL and its Member Clubs thank you for adhering to the provisions of the NHL® Fan Code of Conduct.



Reserved seating areas for patrons utilizing a wheelchair, scooter, or for those with mobility limitations are located throughout the stadium.


Alcohol Policy

Alcohol policies are listed below:

  • No alcohol will be sold to fans who appear intoxicated.
  • There will be a limit of two (2) alcoholic beverages per transaction.
  • Management reserves the right to cut off alcohol sales at its discretion.
  • Fans who do not have proof of being at least 21 years of age may be ejected for possessing alcohol.
  • Fans passing alcohol to minors will be ejected and subject to arrest.
  • We reserve the right to refuse the sale of alcohol to any fan.
  • Outside alcoholic beverages may not be brought beyond the security screening. Any attempt to bring outside alcoholic beverages into Truly Hard Seltzer NHL PreGame or Cotton Bowl® Stadium will be considered a violation of the NHL® Fan Code of Conduct and may result in the fan being ejected, arrested or tickets being revoked.
  • All alcohol sales will be discontinued at the beginning of the third period.


ATMs are available throughout the stadium.


Cotton Bowl® Stadium - Clear Bag Policy and Medical Device Bags

Permitted bags allowed in Cotton Bowl® Stadium include: Only bags and totes that are made of clear plastic and do not exceed 12" X 6" X 12", or one-gallon clear resealable plastic storage bags, or small clutch bags or purses (which are not required to be clear) that do not exceed 4.5" X 6.5". All other bags (including but not limited to backpacks) and/or containers (including but not limited to cans, plastic bottles, thermos, coolers, and/or hard-sided bags) are prohibited inside the stadium. 

Medical device bags are permitted, though will be subject to inspection upon entrance to Cotton Bowl® Stadium.


Banners & Signs

Banners and signs are not permitted in the Cotton Bowl® Stadium


Child Seat Policy

Any child two years of age and older will require a ticket to enter the stadium and must occupy their ticketed seat. 



Food and beverage sales will be available during the game throughout the stadium, Cotton Bowl Plaza outside Gate A, and Nimitz Plaza outside Gate J. All alcohol sales will be discontinued at the beginning of the third period.



"If you see something, say something!"

In the event of an emergency, notify the closest Cotton Bowl® Stadium personnel.



In the event of an emergency please follow in-stadium instructions heard over the loudspeaker to the nearest exit in an orderly and calm manner to seek shelter in a nearby campus building. Please be prepared to use an alternative exit route if necessary, as your usual route of exit may not be available during an emergency.


First Aid

There are two emergency first aid stations, at Gates A & G and in Sections 116 & 137. Paramedics are on duty throughout the game. If assistance is needed in the stands, please contact the nearest usher or emergency medical personnel.


Gate Information

Public Gates including Security Screening & Ticketed Gates will open at 9:00AM with access to the Truly Hard Seltzer NHL® PreGame, Cotton Bowl Plaza and extended outside concourses around Cotton Bowl® Stadium. At 11:00AM doors to Cotton Bowl® Stadium and the seating bowl will open.



Officially licensed merchandise is available at retail locations and novelty shops located in Cotton Bowl Plaza outside Gate A, Nimitz Plaza outside Gate J, and inside Cotton Bowl® Stadium on the Main Concourse behind Section 33. Visit any one of these locations for the widest selection of 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® jerseys, apparel, hats and souvenirs.

Limited parking will be available on game day and public transportation is highly recommended by using the Dart Rail Green Line trains with a convenient stop at Fair Park Station.

  • Cameras (professional equipment or cameras with long telephoto lenses exceeding 6" - except for credentialed media)
  • Coolers (ice chests) or containers
  • Drones or other model aircraft
  • Explosives, fireworks, fuels, lighter fluids or any flammable item
  • Flags and flag poles
  • Folding chairs or stools
  • Food and beverages
  • Hazardous items, chemicals, paint thinners and any aerosol cans
  • Laser pointers or any other object intended to create an optical distraction
  • Noise makers of any kind (air horn, whistles, plastic horn, etc.)
  • Outside alcoholic beverages of any kind
  • Pets (except for service animals used by disabled guests)
  • Sealed packages of any kind
  • Seat cushions or chair backs
  • Stun guns and tasers
  • Tobacco products of any kind, including e-cigarettes
  • Tools including boxcutters, razor type blades and scissors
  • Tripods, Monopods, any telescoping device including selfie sticks
  • Umbrellas
  • Video cameras
  • Weapons of any type, including but not limited to: guns, firearms, ammunition, brass knuckles, billy clubs, black jacks, kubatons. Knives of any length and self-defense sprays (mace)
  • Martial Arts weapons, night sticks, nun chucks
  • Any other item deemed inappropriate or dangerous by the NHL or Cotton Bowl® Stadium personnel in their sole discretion.


Re-Entry Policy

Re-entry into the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® is not permitted once your ticket has been scanned at the entrance of either Cotton Bowl® Stadium or the Truly Hard Seltzer NHL® PreGame.



Restrooms are located throughout the stadium and additional locations outside the stadium.



No smoking is permissible anywhere inside the Cotton Bowl® Stadium.

Ticket Office Location

The main NHL Ticket Office will be located in the East Lobby of Fair Park Coliseum, adjacent to parking lot 12A, just East of Cotton Bowl® Stadium. A ticket service booth will be located in Tower Circle.
