by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
This Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, free Thanksgiving Dinners will be served at Honda Center. For the past 23 years, La Casa Garcia Restaurant and We Give Thanks, Inc., a nonprofit charitable organization founded by restaurateur and philanthropist Frank Garcia, has been serving free Thanksgiving Dinners to those in need in the greater Orange County region. Honda Center has hosted the event the past four years, with 20,000 expected to attend this Thanksgiving.

The official turkey carving ceremony, which has become an annual tradition, will take place at 10:45 AM.  Key members of the community, as well as Anaheim Ducks players will be on hand to help with serving of the food. Entertainment and music will also be provided. Parking at Honda Center is complimentary and free transportation to and from the venue will also be provided from La Casa Garcia Restaurant, located at 531 W. Chapman Ave., Anaheim, CA 92802.

Last year more than 17,000 people attended, 700 turkeys were served and more than 3000 pounds of onions, 5000 pounds of potatoes and 4000 carrots were prepared.

“It is a great feeling to help so many families have a hot meal to eat on Thanksgiving,” said Frank Garcia, We Give Thanks founder.  “Having the event at Honda Center has allowed us to have a positive effect on even more people in our community, and for that we are thankful.”

We Give Thanks, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization [Tax ID# 33-0874658] completely supported by donations from the private sector.

Southern California Smart & Final locations are also participating in the event by awarding customers who purchase a turkey for We Give Thanks a voucher good for two tickets to select Anaheim Ducks home games in the month of November. For more information on the Smart & Final Turkey Drive visit
