Toskala Joins Ducks; Pogge Reassigned

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
Goaltender Vesa Toskala is expected to join the Ducks for their practice tomorrow at Honda Center. Toskala, acquired with winger Jason Blake in a trade that sent J.S. Giguere to Toronto, had to clear immigration before joining the Ducks.

Subsequently, the Ducks have reassigned goaltender Justin Pogge to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Pogge 23 (4/22/86), has gone 7-5-2 with a 2.47 goals-against average (GAA) and .924 save percentage (SV%) in 14 games for San Antonio this season. He posted a 3-0-1 record in his last four starts with the Rampage, stopping 131-of-142 shots for a .923 SV% and 2.65 GAA. Pogge began the season with Bakersfield, going 6-2-0 with a 2.69 GAA and .902 SV% in nine appearances. Pogge was previously recalled by Anaheim twice from Bakersfield, including Oct. 21 and Oct. 26, and was most recently recalled from San Antonio on Jan. 31. He has not made an appearance with Anaheim this season.

The 32-year-old Toskala was 7-12-4 with a 3.66 goals-against average and .874 save percentage for Toronto this season.
