The Ducks announced today that Subway Restaurants has been named title sponsor for the 2009-10 Freeway Face-Off. The announcement was made in conjunction with the Los Angeles Kings. The first meeting this season between the two clubs is tomorrow night at Honda Center (7:35 p.m., PRIME TICKET & KLAA AM 830).
“The Anaheim Ducks are pleased to be part of this initiative,’” said Director of Corporate Sponsorships Wendy Grover. “It’s great to see both clubs and Subway come together in support of hockey in Southern California.”
As part of the agreement, Subway will have a presence at remaining Ducks home games at Honda Center this season. Subway will be featured on HondaVision, in Ducks Digest (the official game-day publication of the Anaheim Ducks), and through public address announcements. In addition, Subway will have exposure on the 57 Freeway marquee, in Ducks print advertising and collateral, on AnaheimDucks.com and Anaheim Ducks radio broadcasts on AM 830.
The Freeway Face-Off was launched during the 2007-08 season, highlighting the rivalry between the Ducks and Kings. The Ducks won the inaugural Freeway Face-Off in 2007-08, earning 12 standings points to the Kings’ six. In 2008-09, the Kings won the second Freeway Face-Off with seven standings points to Anaheim’s six. All six games this season will be televised live on PRIME TICKET or FS WEST.
