|The Blackhawks sit atop the Western Conference with a 10-0-2 record (22 points) with Anaheim right behind them in second place (8-2-1, 17 points).
After a day off yesterday in Chicago, the Ducks hit the ice this morning in preparation for tomorrow’s matchup against the Blackhawks (10-0-2) at United Center. Chicago is the only team in the league that has yet to lose in regulation.
With the Bulls playing a home game tonight, the Ducks put their equipment on at United Center then bussed to Johnny’s IceHouse a few minutes down the street from the arena.
Goaltender Jonas Hiller (lower body) was not on the ice today, but head coach Bruce Boudreau said he has improved and is expected to skate on Tuesday.
The Ducks recalled goaltender Jeff Deslauriers on Saturday, who backed up Viktor Fasth later that night.
Fasth is currently 5-0-0 with a 1.72 goals-against average and .932 save percentage. Among league leaders, Fasth ranks fourth in GAA and sixth in SV%.
FOWLER STILL OUT
Cam Fowler has yet to join the Ducks on their current six-game road swing and will likely not appear in any of the final three games of the trip, according to Boudreau. Fowler was injured in the Feb. 2 game against the Los Angeles Kings and hasn’t appeared in a game since then.
Anaheim recalled defenseman Nate Guenin from Norfolk (AHL) earlier this morning.
Below were the forward line combinations used during today’s practice in Chicago:
Ryan – Koivu – Selanne
Palmieri – Getzlaf – Winnik
Cogliano – Bonino – Perry
Beleskey – Etem – Rakell – Staubitz
