ANAHEIM DUCKS

Corey Perry

On how he felt
I felt all right. Actually, I felt better than I thought I was going to feel. Handling the puck was a different story, but the legs, lungs and body felt fine.

On tonight’s game
It didn’t go the way it was planned for anybody. We were all off. It was an off night for us, but we’re not going to make excuses. We need to be better.

Frederik Andersen
On tonight’s game
We weren’t ready and it showed in the first period. No one in this room was ready, starting from the net on out. That’s unacceptable in this league, and we paid for it today. We have to be better.

On if this was a letdown game
Obviously it’s a better atmosphere when you play the Kings, but we can’t be unprepared to play any team in this league. We paid for it.

Ryan Getzlaf
On tonight’s game
Overall, we’re just embarrassed. It’s embarrassing to play like that in our building. Top to bottom, we weren’t good tonight. We need to recognize that and get better. We have to learn. You have to get wins in your building, especially when you’re heading out to some tough buildings. Emotionally, we need to get ready for Tuesday.

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau
On tonight’s game
We weren’t very good. I don’t know how else to sugarcoat it. From the first shift, when we allowed a two-on-one, we just weren’t very good. We had four two-on-ones against us in the first 21 minutes. We were talking in the room and we don’t know if we had two of them in the first 18 games. It was a complete effort as far as not being very good.

On if the two previous games against LA played a factor
We’re trying to think it didn’t, but it did. The same thing happened to LA on Thursday after they played us. Whatever we say, that’s an excuse. We’re professionals. We should be better than that. Usually we’re very good on the second half of a back to back, but we weren’t today.

FLORIDA PANTHERS

Nick Bjugstad

On his line tonight
Last game we didn’t have the greatest game. We had a little talk together to make sure we were going. Like I said, it was one of those games where everyone was clicking for everyone. We were working. It was clicking for us. Everyone was doing the little things so that was the difference.

On confidence going forward
Anaheim definitely has a good lineup. We knew that coming into this game so we definitely were mentally prepared. We knew what we were up against and everyone rose up to the challenge. That was a big win for us.

Shawn Thornton
On the message coming into the game
This is tough road trip, it doesn’t matter where you are. Coming into this one, there are three really tough games to start. Nashville obviously has been hot, but this west coast swing notoriously is really tough. We wanted to get off to a good start and I thought our first period we had a pretty good start. Obviously the second period we were humming and we finished off well.

On the team
We’ve been gelling for a while off the ice. I think we all get along. We all really like each other. Some pucks are starting to go in. We were a little snakebit at the start of the year.

Head Coach Gerard Gallant
On the game
We played great and we had a good game. (Anaheim) played yesterday in Los Angeles and had a tough, emotional game. We caught them a little bit flat for sure.

On Bjugstad and Boyes
They were just shooting the puck and going to the net. We talk about it all year long - make sure you’re shooting pucks. They pounded some pucks tonight and they competed. I thought our whole team played well real well against a real good team.
