Ryan Getzlaf

On the loss
We had four days off, and should’ve expected to come out and play one of our best games of the year. We didn’t. You have to be able to use those breaks the right way, and show up to play come game time. I didn’t think we did a very good job of that tonight.

On the importance of the game
We’re out of a playoff spot right now. Every game should be a big game. We didn’t do a good job of getting emotionally involved in the game. I thought we spent too much time in our zone.

Jakob Silfverberg
On the slow start
We should always be into the game. We love to play hockey, but the first two periods were nothing like the way we wanted to play. We didn’t finish checks, didn’t get pucks deep and we didn’t really get into the game. You can’t only play one period and win a game. It doesn’t work in this league.

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau

On the third period
You can say it was a strong effort, but when they’ve got a 3-0 lead, they’re just playing safe. We needed that effort in the first two periods, and not just the third.

On the work ethic
We didn’t outwork them. They outworked us. They came ready to play. It’s disappointing. We’re in a position where we can’t afford to all of a sudden not be ready to play, especially when you have one game a week. You’re not going to gain any points if you don’t win. It’s disappointing all around.

Eddie Lack

On his performance in the last two games
I’ve been working on a couple of things lately and I kind of feel like it’s all starting to come into place now. Obviously I haven’t been happy with my performance so far in the season, so I’ve just been sticking with it. It’s a huge game for us here and a huge win.

On tonight’s win
Especially in the first two periods I thought we played a really, really good team game. We capitalized on our chances and obviously we’re all really happy for Skinny, he got three. We’ve got to move on and do the same thing tomorrow.

Jeff Skinner
On his hat trick
It’s nice. I think that part of my job is to produce. Offensively, I think it’s been up and down sort of this year. I think the last few games we’ve done a good job.

On his recent offensive production
I think sometimes it’s a product of confidence. Just getting the bounces. A lot of it has to do with our line. Our line has been together the last few games and we’ve been able to create some opportunities and capitalize on them.

Head Coach Bill Peters
On his team’s momentum
We just played four-in-six and took a day off and we needed it. We had a good practice yesterday and carried that forward. The momentum of the Dallas game, in the third period, into tonight.

On Eddie Lack
He looked big in the net. I thought he looked confident and he played very well.
