ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has sent defenseman Ian Moran and left wing Stanislav Chistov to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim's primary affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL), for conditioning purposes. Neither player has appeared in a game for Anaheim this season.
Last season, Moran, 33 (8/24/72), played 12 games with Boston, collecting 1-1=2 points with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). The Cleveland, Ohio, native missed the final 70 games of the regular season after undergoing knee surgery. In 12 NHL seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins, Moran has played in 488 NHL games, scoring 21-50=71 points with 321 PIM.
Moran agreed to a one-year contract with Anaheim on August 15, 2006
Chistov, 23 (4/17/83), has appeared in two NHL seasons. The 5-10, 200-pound forward has played in 135 career NHL games, earning 14-34=48 points.
He was drafted by Anaheim in the first round (5th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
