Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin
and right wing Corey Perry
are out with viral gland infections. Both started with flu-like symptoms and have begun undergoing various testing. Results are pending.
Beauchemin has four points (assists) in 15 games this season. The Sorel, Quebec native collected his first assist of the season, October 14 at Philadelphia. Beauchemin ranks fifth among NHL defensemen in plus/minus since 2013-14 (+28).
Perry has 11 goals in 13 games this season, and co-leads the NHL in goals and ranks tied for third in power-play goals (4). The Peterborough, Ontario native was named the NHL's First Star for the Month of October, marking the sixth time in franchise history that a Ducks player has won the award (three different players). Perry was also the last Duck to do so (March, 2011). He led the NHL in goals (10) in October and posted two hat tricks in the first seven games of October, becoming the sixth NHL player in 29 years to record multiple hat tricks in the first seven games of a season. Perry ranks tied for second among NHL players with a +43 rating since the beginning of the 2013-14 season.
